GOUDA, HOLLAND, PZH, JAN VAN SCHAIK, "DRAAK (DRAGON)" PATTERN

This strikingly beautiful large vase is a one-of-a-kind creation by Johannes Wilhelmus (Jan) van Schaik. Van Schaik was a master painter and designer for the Gouda fayence factory Zuid Holland. This vase, with a dragon (draak) motif, dates to the production period 1928-1930.
