GOUDA, HOLLAND, SCHOONHOVEN, "JOHNNY" PATTERN

Schoonhoven pottery was started in 1920 by Tijs Visser, Tijs Volker, and Kornelis Prins from the liquidation of Plateelbakkerij de Rozenboom (1919-1920) in The Hague. Schoonhoven took control of production and began making their own pottery. Producing today under the name Schoonhoven Keramiek, the factory continues to operate. Over the years Schoonhoven expanded collaboration with outside artists and designers. They now produce a standart art collection of more than 50 items and the number is growing. This small but very beautifully hand-painted cup or vase was made by the Schoonhoven factory c. 1920. Its pattern name is "Johnny", sometimes written as "Johnnij".
